Holiday homes in Trøndelag - experience Hjellup Fjordbo

Hjellup Fjordbo with its holiday homes.

What is a holiday home? A holiday home is a type of accommodation that people rent for a short period of time, such as during a vacation. They come in all shapes and sizes, and can be anything from a simple cabin in the woods to a luxurious beachfront villa.

If you're looking for holiday homes in mid-Norway's Trøndelag county, you can choose from a variety of accommodation options with us at Hjellup Fjordbo , from well-equipped and spacious beachfront holiday homes to spectacular and secluded accommodation in Dome Smiberget. This is an Arctic Dome located on a mountain shelf right by the fjord.

With us, you'll still find peace and quiet, experiences and activities - and you can take everything at your own pace.

Types of holiday homes

Cabins: Cabins are popular vacation homes, especially for those seeking a cozy escape from everyday life. Cabins can be small and simple, or large and luxurious, depending on your needs and budget.

Bungalows: Bungalows are often single-storey houses that are ideal for families or groups of friends. They often have a garden or outdoor area, providing plenty of space for relaxation and play.

Villas: Villas are the most luxurious type of vacation home. They are often equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and are located in exclusive areas, such as by the beach or in scenic surroundings.

How to get to Hjellup Fjordbo

Hjellup Fjordbo is located in Leksvik - on the Fosen peninsula, right by the Trondheimsfjord. From here you can see straight across the fjord towards Frosta and Trondheim - Norway's third largest city.

If you're heading north on the E6, you can:

  • take the ferry from Flakk (near Trondheim) to Rørvik (Fosen Peninsula), and drive along the idyllic fjord road east (about 40 minutes), until you reach Leksvik and Hjellup Fjordbo, or
  • continue on the E6 to Innherred, and turn off towards Leksvik at Røra in Inderøy municipality (about 90 minutes' drive from Trondheim). From there, it takes just under an hour to drive to Leksvik, along national road 755.

If you're coming from the north, we recommend that you turn right a few kilometers south of Steinkjer - where the Golden Detour is signposted. This will take you along the road in Inderøy, before continuing towards Leksvik.

Whichever way you choose: You'll drive through beautiful countryside, with plenty to feast your eyes on.

Holiday homes in Trøndelag: Different types at Hjellup fjordbo

If you are looking for a holiday home in Trøndelag, you can choose between different types:

Grindaplassen is a cabin that stands on its own. The perfect place for those who want peace and quiet - a little away from other vacationers (which is why it is not visible in the picture).

The five two-storey holiday homes at Drivhussletta are a tiny stone's throw from the beach. They are 82 square meters each and have three bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom, living room and patio on both floors. Here you get the villa feeling.

Litj-stua (or vesle-stua, for those of you who don't pick up the dialect immediately) is a mini house with a fantastic view of the fjord. Litj-stua is a little bit on its own, but still right next to the holiday homes at Drivhussletta and the service center there. In the picture you can see it by the treetops above Dome Smiberget.

Dome Smiberget is located on a mountain shelf with a magnificent view of the Trondheimsfjord. Here you are in your own world, while at the same time it is a short distance to the rest of the offerings and activities at Hjellup Fjordbo. Dome Smiberget is an Arctic dome, which gives you close contact with nature - no matter what time of year you visit us.

How to choose the perfect holiday home

Location, location, location: When choosing a holiday home, location is often the most important factor. Do you want to be near the beach, in the mountains, in a city, or perhaps in the countryside? The choice of location will have a big impact on your vacation experience.

Size and capacity: The size of the holiday home you choose will depend on how many people will be staying there. If you are traveling alone or as a couple, a small cabin or bungalow will be sufficient. If you're traveling with a larger group, such as a family of 5-6, you may need a larger holiday home.

Available facilities: The available amenities in the vacation home are also important to consider. Some vacation homes offer amenities such as proximity to water, a fully equipped kitchen, high-speed internet and more.

The benefits of renting a holiday home

Freedom and flexibility: One of the biggest benefits of renting a vacation home is the freedom and flexibility it offers. You can cook your own meals, come and go as you please, and generally live as if you were at home.

If you visit us at Hjellup Fjordbo you can also order food from us (at least 24 hours in advance). We cook all food on site, and place great emphasis on using local food and good flavors from our region Trøndelag. We offer breakfast, dinner and full board.

Value for money: Another major plus is that holiday homes often offer great value for money, especially if you're traveling with a larger group. You'll have much more space and privacy than you'd get in a hotel, and you have the opportunity to save money by cooking your own meals.

Privacy policy: Holiday homes also offer more privacy than traditional hotels. You have your own place to relax and enjoy, without having to share facilities with other guests.

Tips for renting a holiday home

When renting a holiday home, it is important

  • to do thorough research and
  • read reviews from previous guests,
  • Understand the terms of the rental agreement before booking.

And remember, booking early gives you more choice.

Conclusion

Renting a holiday home can give you a unique and personalized holiday experience. Whether you prefer a cozy cabin in the woods, a stunningly located dome for a romantic weekend getaway or a spacious and well-equipped beachfront holiday home, there's an option out there that's right for you. So why not start planning your next holiday home vacation today? We at Hjellup Fjordbo are certainly ready to welcome you - if you want to rent a holiday home in Trøndelag.
